“Out With Dad” is an upcoming web series about teenage girl and a single father who have a close and positive relationship. Rose is coming of age, and coming out of the closet. Dad, a widower, wants to make sure Rose’s coming out is easy and pain free as possible. Sometimes he tries a little too hard.

1.) FEMALE (18-24; Caucasian) – ROSE. Actress 18 or over TO PLAY 15. Rose considers herself the quiet/shy type. She’s smart, does well in school, stays out of trouble. Her quick wit is reserved for her closest friends – especially Dad. Having just come out to herself, this new perspective on life feels sudden and takes some getting used to. Satisfied with being the wallflower, her fear is that coming out to the rest of the world might end up putting an unwanted spotlight on herself;
2.) FEMALE (18-24; any ethnicity) – VANESSA. Actress 18 or over TO PLAY 15. Vanessa and Rose have been best friends since they were little. When Rose comes out to her and professes her feelings Vanessa is really shaken up. Vanessa’s sexuality is unclear – but what is clear is the thought of being gay terrifies her to the point of being outwardly homophobic;
3.) MALE (41-50; Caucasian) – NATHAN. A widower since Rose’s birth. Nathan works from home as a freelance graphic designer. He’s centered his life around Rose and being the best dad he can be. He’s never really dated or pursued any romantic interests (although he’s recently allowed friends to set him up on dates). Rose’s sexuality has been long suspected, but never confirmed. Her recent turmoil over this issue, and her reluctance to talk about it (contrary to their usual open communication) is tarring him up. He wants the best life possible for Rose. Later, when she finally does come out he supports her coming out of the closet adamantly. Maybe he’s even pushing her out?;
4.) MALE (18-24; any ethnicity) – KENNY. Actor 18 or over TO PLAY 15. Kenny and Rose are very close; to the point that everyone at school assumes they’re a couple, much to their annoyance. Kenny is always bursting with energy (probably a touch of ADHD!) School takes second priority to having fun. Girls and girl-politics are a total mystery to him, not from a lack of trying. Rose’s coming out to him is met with MUCH enthusiasm;
5.) FEMALE (41-50; any ethnicity) – VANESSA’S MOM. A stern woman who expects the very best of her daughter. She makes no allusions to the fact that she thinks homosexuality is wrong. Her beliefs are tide closely to her cultural and/or religious background, which she expects Vanessa to uphold as well;
6.) FEMALE (41-50; any ethnicity) – ANGELA. People-person with bubbly personality. Always says too much, but never manages to offend people with this trait;
7.) MALE TEEN (15-17; any ethnicity) – SKATER-DUDE. Buddy of Kenny’s
